Our 15,000+ undergraduate students come from all 50 states and over 120 nations. There are more than 30 religious organizations on campus, and more than 49% of our students identify as coming from a multicultural background.
At Cornell, diversity and multiculturalism have been a defining focus for over 150 years. One of Cornell’s founders, Ezra Cornell, once said, “I would found an institution where any person can find instruction in any study.” Today, Cornell remains at the forefront of higher education in embracing students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds. A campus climate is fostered which celebrates differences, providing rich opportunities for our university community to grow with, and learn from, one another.
