How do I apply?

First-year and transfer students can apply via the Common Application (CA), which can be completed and submitted online. Cornell also requires a Writing Supplement.  The Cornell undergraduate college or school a student applies to may have additional requirements, such as a personal interview, a portfolio, or a design submission.

First-year applicants should review Cornell's first-year application requirements and first-year checklist for detailed information about the process of applying. To learn more about the college-specific additional requirements, please see the college and school admissions requirements website as well.

Transfer applicants should review the transfer application requirements and transfer checklist for detailed information about the process of applying for admission.

Cornell highly encourages applicants to submit all application materials online. Applicants should not submit a paper copy if they submit an online application through the Common Application. If a student does not submit their application electronically, they should send a paper copy of their application materials by following the instructions found on Cornell’s application mailing instructions website.
