Not having a formal background/education in art doesn’t need to hinder how you present your work in the DEA Design Challenge. Your creative thought processes and written rationale are as important as aesthetic aptitude. DEA accommodates students with a wide range of creative talents and experiences.
With that, answer the written portions thoughtfully and demonstrate an understanding of the major. Approaching the written statements from a scholarly perspective and being able to contextualize our program around your interests (as well as how that can impact broader communities), as opposed to focusing on just the presentation/aesthetic pieces will help support your candidacy.
