Cornell accepts transfer students who have completed two, three, and even four semesters at another college or university and does not encourage applications from students currently in their first college semester. Candidates are encouraged to apply when they feel they have a strong application and should follow the guidelines and deadlines outlined on the Transfer Requirements Chart and the Transfer Application Checklist.
All of Cornell’s undergraduate colleges and schools accept applications for both fall and spring transfer cycles, with the exception of the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and the College of Engineering. Due to the rigorous coursework sequencing, students interested in the Dyson School or the College of Engineering transfer are eligible to apply for the fall semester transfer admission cycles only, which means that candidates apply in the spring and begin classes at Cornell in the fall.
The transfer application deadline for spring semester is October 15.
The transfer application deadline for fall semester is March 15.
Prospective international transfer students should visit the International Students website for general admissions-related information.
